You will complete your student registration in your PowerSchool Parent Portal. Look for the "Pre-registration for next year".
Summary Procedure for New Registrations from Outside of ECSD
- Parent completes the online registration by first creating a School Engage Profile - See how to Register
- Parent may upload required documents such as a birth certificate, baptismal certificate, proof of address, citizenship documents and current report card with marks and attendance.
- School confirms with parent/guardian of acceptance.
Academy Registrations
- RETURNING ACADEMY STUDENTS - In Edmonton Catholic Schools, on February 3, 2025, you will be able to go onto PowerSchool and choose St. Francis Xavier as your Desired School along with the Academy that you are interested in, if you are currently an ECSD student
- NEW ACADEMY STUDENTS to ECSD - The online application process for new students to ECSD will become live on February 3, 2025
- Parents with children already currently registered in ECSD can go directly to their Parent Portal and click on School Engage to add a student and then fill out the application online.
- As soon as a family applies online, they will receive a message that states their application is not complete until the school verifies the child’s required documents (e.g. birth certificate, baptismal certificate, etc.) and to contact the school’s administration for further instructions.
- Parents can upload a digital copy of the required documents directly on the online registration system. However, schools must verify the documents are accurate and corroborating that they are valid with an in-person meeting.
Admission Policy
New students to the Division will therefore be registered in the following order:
- Resident students in catchment area
- Resident students residing outside of the catchment area
- Non-resident residing within the catchment area
- Non-resident students residing outside of the catchment area
| When accepting registration applications, we will follow the Admission Policy where priority will be given to ECSD (Edmonton Catholic Schools Division) students/Resident students first, followed by Out-of-Division applicants. However, conditional acceptance may be granted at any time during the registration period. Thank you for your patience, as the review of new student applications may occur after Spring Break. | 
- Once accepted to your respected Academy, your Course Selection, Contract, and Deposit are due immediately to secure your spot in the Academy one week after acceptance. If you are a Returning ECSD Student, the payment can be added through PowerSchool. If you are NEW to ECSD, you will receive an email from our Business Manager Leanna Spencer with instructions on how to make Academy Payment/Deposit
