Dear St. Francis Xavier Catholic High School Community,
As we stand on the threshold of the 2025–26 school year, it is with great joy, anticipation, and a renewed sense of purpose that I welcome you all to another year at St. Francis Xavier – a place where faith, learning, and community come together in meaningful and transformative ways.
Our school motto, Caritas Christi – the Love of Christ – continues to anchor all that we do. It is this guiding light that calls us to foster a culture rooted in compassion, respect, and service, where every student and staff member is empowered to grow in heart, mind, and spirit.
At FX, we are proud to offer a wide range of opportunities that reflect the diverse talents and aspirations of our student body. Through our ongoing faith journey, we come together in Mass, celebration, and daily practice to grow spiritually and deepen our shared commitment to living out Christ’s love.
In the classroom, we pursue academic excellence through a dynamic and rigorous curriculum that includes Advanced Placement offerings and academic pathways designed to challenge and inspire. Our specialized Sport Academies in Hockey, Soccer, Golf, and Baseball/Softball continue to provide outstanding programming that nurtures talent and supports a variety of athletic and career pathways.
Our Fine Arts and CTS programs remain a cornerstone of creative expression at FX, allowing students to explore their passions and showcase their talents in innovative ways. Our Athletics program fosters school pride and sportsmanship while developing teamwork and perseverance on and off the field.
Through our Braided Journeys program, we are committed to honoring and integrating Indigenous perspectives into our school community, building deeper cultural understanding and relationships rooted in truth and reconciliation. Student voice remains strong at FX through initiatives such as the Xavier Union and a wide variety of student and staff-led clubs, ensuring every student can find a place where they belong and contribute.
It is a privilege to work alongside an incredible team of Assistant Principals who will continue to support our students at each stage of their high school journey: Kim Bremault for Grade 10, Kerri-Ann Kolemans for Grade 11, and Dana Hutton for Grade 12. Their leadership and care are integral to the success of our school. Our dedicated Faculty Council leads professional growth and innovation in each department, while our School Advisory Council provides essential support and partnership to our school community. Our Learning Support and Student Services teams continue to walk alongside students with compassion, advocacy, and individualized care throughout their high school years.
As we begin this new chapter together, let us move forward with the spirit of Caritas Christi in all our endeavors, lifting one another up, striving for excellence, and embracing the joy and challenges of the journey ahead.
May the Love of Christ fill our hearts and guide our steps. May our school be a place where every person is seen, heard, and valued. May this school year bring abundant blessings, meaningful growth, and the continued joy of learning in faith and community.
Welcome to the 2025–26 school year at FX!
With faith and gratitude,
Fernando Runco, Principal
