The St. Francis Xavier female squad were given the opportunity to travel to Italy and England for a Professional Academy experience.
- From October 13-24 the female academy team played and trained with some of the top european groups throughout thier time in the soccer mad nations of Italy and England.
- The competition included matches versus Roma, Torino, Chalton Athletic and Enfield FC.
The results were as follows:
AC Roma 2 – FX Academy 4
Torino Calcio 4 – FX Academy 0
Enfield FC 0 – FX Academy 4
Charlton Athletic 4 – FX Academy 1
Highlights included:
- 4 Matches
- Pre competition training camp at the official Italian National team’s Borghesiano facilities in Roma.
- Training sessions with Fulham and Juventus Academy Staff.
- A Tour of the Fulham training grounds as well as an opportunity to view a First team’s training session.
- Two professional matches ( Roma versus Genoa/Newcastle versus West Ham).
- Tour vists to Roman Colloseum, Vatican, Spanish Steps, Trafalgar Square, Duomo of Milan.
- London Eye, London Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Picadelly Circus, Big Ben etc.
